Reunion Letter to the Class of 1987
Dear Class of 1987,
It's hard to believe it has been almost 25 years since we descended those stairs on the Mall on that wonderful June day. In our hands, we held the product of all of our hard work and in our hearts we held love, friendship, and memories for our class. As we write to you, so many wonderful memories comes flooding back into our minds. It was such a truly special time in our lives and we were a very special class.
Currently, plans are underway for an exciting reunion weekend. This may seem far off, but our reunion is just around ther corner. Mark it in big, bold letters on your calendar now and get those contacts going to our fellow classmates. If you remember, we had the most amazing participation for Senior Week. Let's repeat that 25 years later with the best participation for our reunion.
The St. Joseph's College Office of Alumni Relations will be sending you an invitation to Spring Reunion Weekend where we will be honored as the silver jubilee class. There are three events planned for this year's reunion. The kick-off will be Dance Club Alumni Night on the Brooklyn Campus on April 19, 2012. There will be an alumni reception at 7 p.m. and a dance performance from current members of the dance club at 8 p.m. On Friday, April 20 from 6-9 p.m., the College will host a rooftop reception at Hudson Terrace in New York City. Finally, on Saturday, April 21, the annual Spring Reunion Luncheon will be held at The University Club. Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m., cocktails at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at 12:30 p.m. Spouses and guests are welcome to attend all of these events.
For those coming from out of town, rooms are available at the Club for those who wish to stay overnight. Please contact Lars Dewenter at 212.247.2100. Discounted parking will also be available at Central Park Garage, 17 East 54th Street, just off 5th Avenue.
The Office of Alumni Relations has set up two webpages where you can receive continued updates on Spring Reunion Weekend. The first is the general reunion page. Visit www.sjcny.edu, click on "Alumni" on the left side panel and then click on "Reunions" on the right side panel. There is also a page dedicated specifically to the Class of 1987 and can only be accessed if you are a member of the online community, SJConnect, http://alumni.sjcny.edu/1987. You can also keep up to date with reunion news on the St. Joseph's College Alumni facebook page, www.facebook.com/sjcnyalumni.
As a thank you for all we received from St. Joseph's, the anniversary classes traditionally present the College with a class gift. Our class gift will include all the donations made to St. Joseph's from July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. A letter will arrive shortly in the mail from the Annual Fund with more information on how to give. This would be a wonderful way to say thank you for all we have received from the College and to help continue its good work for others. Any size gift will be greatly appreciated. Let's aim for 100% participation from the Class of '87!
So let's gte started! Get on the phone, send those emails and write those letters. Let's get everyone together for this very special event so that we can go down memory lane together. We look forward to seeing you all for Spring Reunion Weekend 2012!
Sincerely,
Mary Beth Radday
Helen Rapa Rafaniello
